We're Northern Cards and we have proudly been Canada’s Greeting Card Company Since 1989, specializing in hand-drawn illustrations by exceptional artists.

Our History 

Our brand was created by our co-founders, Hugh Clarkson and Jean-Paul Michael. They had a simple concept in mind - putting together an amazing assortment of greeting cards that would cater to consumer needs on a single display. 

More than 30 years and a hundred million cards later, that same concept holds true today - but now in a convenient digital display instead.

Our Present

Northern Cards sells directly to consumers through our arrangement with Amazon and we also sell to greeting card wholesalers and distributors. We have been working with an array of new Canadian writers, illustrators, and designers, as well as European ones for the first time. 

Our Philosophy

At Northern Cards, we've built our reputation over many years, supplying the best quality, original greeting cards while offering a service that's second to none. We follow market trends to ensure our products remain current and are always exploring new artists for our hand-drawn and hand-painted range of cards. 

Our high-quality cards are 5" x 7" (13cm x 18 cm) and are printed with the environment in mind. All of our cards are printed on World Wildlife Fund’s FSC certified paper - a strict international certification and labelling system that’s dedicated to promoting responsible forestry management.

Northern Cards has always been concerned about the environment; for over 30 years, we have only ever used recycled and sustainably resourced paper for all our printing and envelopes. Our cards are printed with vegetable-based inks and we limit our packaging whenever possible.
